Merino is one of the finest and softest wool of any sheep and is a very popular choice for fibre crafts. This is 23 micron (64's) merino combed wool top which has been commercially dyed so you can re-order the same *colour time and time again. This Merino is from non-mulesed flocks from the cape of South Africa or South America (depending on availability).
Spins very well on the spinning wheel and on a drop spindle. Widely used for needle felting and for wet felting.
How much fibre will I need?
You can spin 100g of yarn from 100g of fibre. Yardage will depend on how finely you spin. The weight chart below is a helpful guide but depends on garment size and tension. For needle and wet felting 100 grams will go a long way. Always buy enough to finish your project from one batch.
*Device settings can affect the colours shown on screen. There could also be slight variations from batch to batch.
