  • 16 colours
  • Bright & heavy shades
  • Designed for protein (animal) fibres
  • Handy measuring spoon
  • Add vinegar or citric acid to fix
  • Use 1g of dye per 100g of fibre
  • Packet contains 10g of dry dye powder
  • Will dye approx 500g of fibre (dry weight)
  • Mix in 1 litre of water for a 1% liquid dye stock (see video)
  • Calculate how much of this stock should be added to your dye bath (depending on the dry weight of the fibre) to achieve the desired shade

How much dye will I need?

The approximate quantities of dye required will depend on the dry weight of the fibre and the shade strength required.

Here's our quick start, 1 pot, 1 colour method:

Dry fibre weight Medium shade
per 100 grams 1g (1/2 tsp)
  1. Thoroughly dissolve the required amount of dye powder in enough hot water to make a dye solution.
  2. Add this dye solution to the dye bath & stir.
  3. Add citric acid or white vinegar
  4. Add the pre soaked fibre
  5. Raise the temperature slowly
  6. Simmer for 20 minutes
  7. Allow to cool before rinsing
  8. Spin or hang dry.

The dyes are safe to use providing a few basic safety in use rules are observed.
