Achieve vibrant colours with excellent colour fastness on fibre & yarn.

These are regular acid milling dyes that require citric acid or white vinegar to fix. There are lots of colours or get creative and mix them up! Vary the dye strength for lighter shades. Easy to use on the hob or in the microwave using a variety of dyeing techniques. 

Comes in a 10g re-sealable packet with a handy free spoon included to make up 1 litre of a 1% strength dye stock solution. If you are not sure how to prepare a 1% solution see our dyers help page.

Dye strength guide per 100g of fibre or yarn...

  • Approx 1.5g - 2g or 150ml to 200ml of a 1% dye stock solution
  • Use less to lighten the shade
  • For the BLACK use 3g - 4g or  300ml to 400ml of a 1% dye stock solution

    Designed for dyeing wool, nylon, silk and other protein fibres such as angora, mohair, and cashmere (please read our disclaimer below).

    Here's a quick start, 1 pot, 1 colour recipe:

    1. Thoroughly dissolve 10g of dye powder in 1L of hot water to make a 1% dye stock solution.
    2. In a dye bath, stir in 100ml to 200ml of the dye stock per 100g of fibre depending on the shade required.
    3. Add citric acid or white vinegar to achieve a pH level of 3 or 4.
    4. Add the pre soaked fibre
    5. Raise the temperature slowly
    6. Simmer gently for approx 20 minutes
    7. Allow to cool before rinsing gently
    8. Spin or hang dry

    What will & won't it dye?

    Suitable for dyeing protein (animal) fibres such as wool, alpaca, feathers, silk & also nylon (as long as is it really IS nylon!) Please read our dyes disclaimer below.

    Not suitable for plant (vegetable) fibres such as cotton, hemp, flax, bamboo, and not acrylics and most other man made fibres.
