Our Story so far...
My name is Gai (gay) and I own and run Fibrehut Limited with my husband Dave from a pretty little rural shop in Evesham. For many years now I have had a passion (more like an obsession!) for all things fibre related and literally spin and weave every day. Like many spinners and weavers I have collected a large stash of fibre and equipment which threatens to take over my house. "You could open a shop with that lot!" was Dave's cry.... so I did!
We took the plunge and opened FibreHut in 2014 and soon became an official ASHFORD UK DEALER. As passionate spinners, weavers and dyers ourselves, we have total confidence in Ashford's wheels, carders & looms and decided that we would pretty much stick to this one major brand. We added lots of other goodies including a gorgeous selection of fibre including our own range of unique fibre blends, our own range of FibreDYE acid milling dyes plus we also started to offer tuition.
We even managed to pursuade Nigel Huddleston MP to come along to officially open our new shop at Blackminster Business Park!
We're online and in-store...
We are well established now and have a major presence online but we still maintain our retail shop as people just love to come and try before they buy especially with spinning wheels which are a very personal choice. Our classroom is always busy not only with our own tuition but with visiting guest tutors. We have a great selection of classes plus we hold lots of open days and sit 'n' spins so stay in touch & we'll keep you informed.
We are passionate spinners, weavers and dyers ourselves and we just love to talk shop so you're always welcome to pop in for advice and a chat! We have wheels and looms on display and for you to try without obligation, plus lots of spares, accessories, carders, felting kits and over 200 varieties of fibre! We are an authorised Ashford UK main dealer and offer sales, wheel servicing, assembly and wax polishing for collected orders. You can even bring in your old Ashford wheel for a free service while-u-wait!
We love to support craftsmen who produce some beautiful hand turned drop spindles and threading hooks for us, and local businesses like Church Mouse needle felting kits of Honeybourne.
FibreHut open days & events...
Lots of people enjoyed our alpaca day here at Fibrehut on Saturday 6th July 2019. The gorgeous alpacas from South House Alpacas of South Littleton were so very well behaved and everyone managed to get up close with our cute furry friends!
FibreHut held another successful ASHFORD DAY on Wed 20th June 2018. James & David flew over from Ashford HQ in New Zealand and enjoyed a wonderful day hosted by Ashford dealers Gai and Dave of FibreHut. Over 100 spinning and weaving enthusiasts come from near and far to spend the day learning about all things Ashford. There was spinning and weaving demonstrations, history talks, wheel tune ups and of course the infamous sheepy cakes!
Back in 2015 we hosted an Ashford big spin and weave day where over 70 enthusiastic spinners, weavers and fibre artists enjoyed a great day with special guest "Kate Sherratt" from Ashford New Zealand. Everyone enjoyed her expert, helpful advice and especially her unique fun filled presentation style! For those of you who don't know, Kate is the sales & marketing manager with Ashford Handicrafts, Ashburton, New Zealand.

The Blackminster site was built in the early 1900's by George Cadbury of the Cadbury's Chocolate family. His idea was to create a fruit canning factory situated right in the heart of The Vale of Evesham, where the supply of local fruit would be plentiful. Helping to supply such fruit was the recently formed co-operative called "Littleton and Badsey Growers" who had established themselves on the then "Blackminster Rail yard"...
