Our Story so far...
My name is Gai (gay) and I own and run Fibrehut Limited with my husband Dave. For many years now I have had a passion (more like an obsession!) for all things fibre related and literally spin and weave every day. Like many spinners and weavers I have collected a large stash of fibre and equipment which threatens to take over my house. "You could open a shop with that lot!" was Dave's cry.... so I did!
FibreHut Ltd - established 2014...
We took the plunge and opened FibreHut in 2014 persuading Nigel Huddleston MP to come along to officially open our new premises at Blackminster Business Park! We soon became an official ASHFORD UK DEALER. As passionate spinners, weavers and dyers ourselves, we love Ashford's wheels, carders & looms and decided that we would start with this major brand. We added lots of other goodies including a gorgeous selection of fibre, fibre blends, handmade drop spindles, our own range of FibreDYE acid dyes plus we also started to offer classes.
These days we have established a good reputation and have a major presence online. We invite customers to come and try before they buy especially with spinning wheels and weaving looms which are a very personal choice.
Our studio is always busy not only with our own classes but with visiting guest tutors, open days, club meetings and sit 'n' spins so stay in touch by visiting our what's on page and become a regular and make new like minded friends!
Lots of people enjoyed our alpaca day here at Fibrehut on Saturday 6th July 2019. The gorgeous alpacas from South House Alpacas of South Littleton were so very well behaved and everyone managed to get up close with our cute furry friends!
FibreHut held another successful ASHFORD DAY on Wed 20th June 2018. James & David flew over from Ashford HQ in New Zealand and enjoyed a wonderful day hosted by Ashford dealers Gai and Dave of FibreHut. Over 100 spinning and weaving enthusiasts come from near and far to spend the day learning about all things Ashford. There was spinning and weaving demonstrations, history talks, wheel tune ups and of course the infamous sheepy cakes!
Back in 2015 we hosted an Ashford big spin and weave day where over 70 enthusiastic spinners, weavers and fibre artists enjoyed a great day with special guest "Kate Sherratt" from Ashford New Zealand. Everyone enjoyed her expert, helpful advice and especially her unique fun filled presentation style! For those of you who don't know, Kate is the sales & marketing manager with Ashford Handicrafts, Ashburton, New Zealand.

The Blackminster site was built in the early 1900's by George Cadbury of the Cadbury's Chocolate family. His idea was to create a fruit canning factory situated right in the heart of The Vale of Evesham, where the supply of local fruit would be plentiful. Helping to supply such fruit was the recently formed co-operative called "Littleton and Badsey Growers" who had established themselves on the then "Blackminster Rail yard"...
