You'll get 100% of my attention!

Class times are Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm by arrangement.

This is private tuition so it will be just me and you. You'll find my classes are friendly and packed with information and tips. One session is usually enough to send you home with the confidence to carry on practising and learning by yourself.

I recommend a 2 hour class but you can book from 1½ to 3 hours. I will tailor the content to your individual requirements and experience, and we'll cover as much as we can in the allotted time.

I can supply all of the equipment & materials or you can bring your own spinning wheel or weaving loom and learn on that if you like.

Examples...

Below indicates some of the topics we may cover depending on your experience level and the allotted time.

Dyeing

Using acid dyes with combed wool top. Microwave and in-the-pot dyeing techniques, mixing colours. Lots of tips and techniques which can also be applied to yarn dyeing.

Beginner or experienced (1½ to 3 hours)

Spinning on a drop spindle

This is the ideal way for a beginner to learn hand spinning. We'll be using a top whorl drop spindle to produce a single ply yarn which you can take home with you.

Buy a new wheel or loom & enjoy a private lesson at the same time!

Here's a great way to get started on a brand new spinning wheel or weaving loom. We will supply, assemble and wax polish if required. You then come along & collect and enjoy a private class at the same time. You'll get to understand your new equipment and go home full of confidence. Lots of tips and technique!
