Enough for 40 individual tests!
To test the pH level (acidity) of the dye bath water, simply dip the end of one strip of test paper into the dye bath for 1 or 2 seconds and remove. Then compare the colour on the test paper with colour chart within 5 seconds of removal. The colour produced will indicate the pH of the solution.
When using our acid dyes you should aim for a reading of 3 or 4 on the pH scale - increase acidity (lower the number) by adding odourless citric acid (or white vinegar).
These can also be used for other substances including foodstuff, Aquarium/Water, Urine, Soil etc.
- 1-3 Indicates a very high Acidic Substance
- 4-6 Indicates an Acidic Substance
- 7 Indicates Neutral
- 8-11 Indicates an Alkaline Substance
- 12-14 Indicates a very high level of Alkalinity
