What can I use it for?

This is 100% natural brown Bluefaced Leicester combed wool top. It is a very versatile fine English wool and is highly prized and rightly so as it can be compared in character to mohair and alpaca. Use our Bluefaced Leicester with total confidence for all your spinning, felting and blending projects. BFL normally dyes very well but as this is a dark brown it will be less successful. A very popular choice for beginners and advanced users.

Did you know? BFL wool is very versatile as it is fine enough to be very comfortable when worn next to the skin, yet durable and long wearing.

How much will I need?

This depends on how finely you spin and the size and tension of the final knitted garment. 100g of fibre will make 100g of yarn the length of which will depend on how chunky you spin the yarn. The weights below are a helpful guide but cannot be guaranteed. If you are unsure buy a little more than you think you'll need.

Natural, renewable & biodegradable

This wool is 100% natural and at the end of its useful life can be returned to the soil where it will quickly decompose. Every year sheep produce a new fleece making wool a renewable fibre source. Read more at the Campaign for Wool.
