MINSTREL spinning wheel

The Kromski Minstrel is a beautiful castle style spinning wheel and really is a work of art. The orifice is located directly above the wheel and treadles which many spinners find to be more comfortable to spin on. It gets our vote as the best choice castle style wheel!

It is a double treadle wheel bursting with detailed, handcrafted wood turnings and can be adjusted to operate in either double drive mode or single drive mode with Scotch tension. Equipped with an 18” diameter wheel yet not requiring much floor space. 

An optional distaff (available separately) easily attaches for spinners requiring assistance with longer staple-length fibers, such as flax or hemp, or just looks good for re-enactors and suchlike.

The superb roller bag is made just for this wheel and has plenty of pockets inside and out to carry bobbins, niddy noddy, fibre & accessories. If you need to protect and transport your minstrel from place to place then this is a must have addition.

When your new wheel arrives you'll need to unpack and self assemble it following the instructions provided. We offer an assembly service on collected orders - why not stay for a private lesson at the same time!

Finish options...

This model comes from the factory left as natural untreated wood. It is a good idea to wax all of the wooden parts (prior to assembly is best) to protect from finger marks and enhance the wood grain. Choose the custom waxed option above we will do that for you!

Other factory applied finishes including Walnut, Varnished and Mahogany are shown in the Kromski catalogue and can be ordered at additional cost.
