Brake band set / scotch tension

If your older Ashford wheel still has only 1 spring, you can update it to the recommended 2 springs with this kit

• Nylon brake band
• 2 x standard tension springs

This combo pack contains a nylon brake band and 2 x standard tension springs as fitted to Ashford spinning wheels. Replace worn or stretched components to ensure smooth running.

Why use two tension springs on the brake band? Two springs fitted either side of the bobbin whorl will make plying easier as it allows the brake band to flex rather than pull against the tension knob.
